I love crafting and all things fiber; sometimes it trickles onto my tote bags! Adding your fiber arts onto tote bags is a great way to show off your craft in a functional way. For my strawberry tote, I wove my strawberry on a loom. Instead of tucking in the warp threads at the end I just snipped them off the loom leaving long threads. I used a fabric glue to adhere them to the back of my weaving. I also sprayed my weaving with a stiffening spray – this helped keep the weaving in place. Then, I used a double sided iron on adhesive to attach my weaving to my tote.
I hope you enjoy this quick DIY idea and try it out with your own fiber arts: granny squares, weavings, knits, etc. It’s always best to try the techniques on a swatch to make sure it works well for your craft of choice. Have fun!
