Materials:
Yarn
Contrasting Yarn
Darning Needle
Scissors
Wrap your yarn around your pom pom maker until it is as thick as you’d like it – the more you wrap the denser your pom pom will be.
Place your contrasting yarn around the center of your wrapped yarn.
Pull tight and tie a strong knot.
Cut both sides of your wrapped yarn.
Now your pom pom is off your pom pom maker and ready for a haircut.
Keep trimming with your scissors and rotating your pom pom until your pom pom is even and the size you would like. The more you trim the denser your pom pom will be. Be careful not to snip the tails of your contrasting yarn.
Insert the tails of your contrasting yarn through the keyring.
Tie a knot.
Now your pom pom is fastened to your keyring.
Pull the tails through the body of the pom pom to secure.
Pull the tails all the way through to the bottom of the pom pom.
Tie a knot to secure.
Pull the tails back through the pom pom and snip the ends close to the pom pom so they are hidden.
Now you have a fun little pom pom keychain to dress up your tote bag.
